Who’s hot and who’s not out of the pro Orange representatives?
Syracuse Orange football is through five games, and so are their graduates in the NFL. Here’s the latest on their efforts this season:
Matthew Bergeron (Atlanta Falcons) – Berg was fiercely tested in a pair of divisional games, and he along with most of the Falcons’ OL didn’t put up their best numbers. He committed three penalties between the two games and allowed six total QB pressures… but he and veteran tackle Jake Matthews are the only of the five linemen to maintain plus pass rush grades.
Andre Cisco (Jacksonville Jaguars) – Had his two best games of the season coverage-wise, with above average grades in both. Four tackles (three solo) in Week 4, then contributed seven (six solo) and a pass breakup to help the Jags finally land in the win column in Week 5.
Tommy DeVito (New York Giants) – The G-Men scraped out a second win without DeVito, who continues to wait patiently for another chance.
Riley Dixon (Denver Broncos) – Eight punts in dreary East Rutherford weather against the Jets, followed by six back home against the Raiders… and the Broncos won both times? Sure, why not. Dixon has now pinned opponents inside their 20 at nearly a 50% clip (14/30).
Zaire Franklin (Indianapolis Colts) – Indy’s defensive captain had nine tackles (six solo) and held off a late Steelers comeback in Week 4. He then led the Colts’ defense with ten tackles (three solo) and a pass breakup in their narrow loss in Jacksonville this past Sunday.
Trishton Jackson (Minnesota Vikings) – Inactive in Weeks 4 and 5.
Ifeatu Melifonwu (Detroit Lions) – Despite earlier reports saying it was unlikely to happen, the fourth-year DB was placed on IR after all. There’s no immediate timetable for his return, but he will be absent through at least Week 8.
Sean Tucker (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Tucker had one carry and one catch during the Bucs Week 4 win over the Eagles. He’s also settling in nicely on special teams, with two positive kick returns in Atlanta including this 53-yarder:

Garrett Williams (Arizona Cardinals) – Played primarily in slot coverage against Washington, picking off one pass and breaking up another while also making four tackles (three solo). He had a remarkable 82.8 grade from PFF – his personal best. However, he missed a week of practice and sat out the next game with a groin injury.
