Sean Tucker breaks out, Zaire Franklin locks down, and more
Things are mostly trending up for the Syracuse Orange players-turned-pro, especially the pair of active #44s. Keep scrolling for the details…
Matthew Bergeron (Atlanta Falcons) – Berg had one-and-a-half good games since we last checked in. Atlanta’s left guard posted his highest run-blocking grade of the season against Carolina, and he had built up his best overall performance versus the Seahawks before leaving in the 3rd quarter with a neck injury.
Andre Cisco (Jacksonville Jaguars) – It was a solid layaway in London for Cisco: seven tackles (three solo), a pass breakup, and an interception against the Bears, then five tackles (two solo) and another breakup versus the Patriots.
Tommy DeVito (New York Giants) – A shakeup is desperately needed here. While it’s somehow not the worst QB contract in the league, Daniel Jones continues to be very uninspiring under center. After managing just 119 total yards of offense against the Eagles, the G-Men can’t seriously spin the tires on the Tommy Cutlets comeback tour much longer. As Sheev would say… Dew It!
Riley Dixon (Denver Broncos) – Dixon has been less busy as the Denver offense finally found its form lately. Five punts against the Chargers and three against the Saints, with an average of just over 45 yards per attempt. Half landed opposing teams inside the 20.
Zaire Franklin (Indianapolis Colts) – Zaire continues to do what #44s are known for – dominate. He willed the Colts to a pair of close victories with nine tackles (eight solo) at Tennessee and a team-high 16 tackles (five solo) and a forced fumble while hosting Miami.
Trishton Jackson (Minnesota Vikings) – Has not seen game action since Week 3.
Ifeatu Melifonwu (Detroit Lions) – Iffy will miss at least one more game while he remains on IR. He could make his season debut in two weeks at Green Bay.
Sean Tucker (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Tucker won NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his standout two-touchdown performance against the Saints. He didn’t get a chance to replicate his near-200-yard game however; the Bucs fell in a hole early against the Ravens and he ended with only five carries, all in the first half.
Garrett Williams (Arizona Cardinals) – Two tackles (one solo) at Green Bay and five tackles (four solo) versus the Bolts. Garrett also has a pass breakup in three straight games and is one of the few bright spots on a less-than-stellar defense.
Be sure to check back every other week throughout the fall as we recap the latest pro Orange performances.
