The Syracuse Orange athletics season is in full swing so we are back with these weekly recaps as we look to broaden our coverage of the Olympic sports.

The Orange will host Stanford and California next weekend.
Women’s Soccer (6-7-1, 0-6)
After dropping a 3-0 decision to Notre Dame, the Orange once again find themselves struggling to find the back of the net. They have only scored twice in six ACC games and it’s not getting easier with a trip to Pittsburgh next Sunday.
Volleyball (12-4, 0-4)
Syracuse is now on a four-match losing streak following 3-0 losses to #17 SMU and #1 Pittsburgh.
The Orange will head west to play Stanford and California as they look to get their first ACC win of 2024.
Cross-Country
Syracuse sent their B squads to the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh. The Orange women took 17th in the Gold Race, led by Baneet Bains’ 42nd place finish. In the women’s open race, Syracuse freshman Selma Anderson was the overall winner.
Kamari Miller (82nd place) was the top finisher for the Syracuse men, who took 35th in the 8K Gold Race.
The Orange will split squads next weekend with one group at Princeton and the other at Pre-Nationals back in Wisconsin.
Ice Hockey (2-0, 0-0)
Syracuse started their season with two 4-0 wins over Stonehill. Allie Kelley and Bella Gould both started a game in net and both recorded 20 saves for Syracuse.
The Orange head to St. Lawrence on Tuesday night and then play a home and home with RPI next weekend.
