
and ACC Championship season starts today
The Syracuse Orange spring athletics season is in full swing so we are back with these weekly recaps as we look to keep you updated on the Olympic sports.
Softball (22-19, 3-15)
It was a tough week for Syracuse as they dropped all four games- losing 2-1 at Cornell and then dropping three at Virginia over the weekend. The offense has slowed for the Orange as they scored just 3 runs and were out-scored 27-3 for the week.

Syracuse hopes to regroup during this week off and make a late-season push.
M. Rowing
#9 Syracuse opened their spring season with races against #3 Brown, #8 Stanford, the California Rowing Club and Cal’s freshman team. The Orange were unable to win any races in the opening weekend.
Syracuse will head to Annapolis next weekend to race against #14 Cornell and #17 Navy for the annual Goes Trophy
W. Rowing
The #10 Orange lost each race against #2 Stanford and #8 California last weekend. They will have this weekend off before heading to Princeton to face the Tigers, Tennessee and Ohio State.
Tennis (9-10, 2-10)
Syracuse wrapped up the regular season by knocking off #62 Louisville 4-3 before falling to #24 Notre Dame 4-0. Nelly Knezkova clinched the win over the Cardinals with the victory at #2 singles.
Syracuse earned the #16 seed in the ACC Championships and will face #17 Boston College on this morning at 10:00 am in Cary, NC. The winner moves on to face Clemson in the 2nd round.
Track and Field
Syracuse was at Duke and Providence last weekend. For the women. Taleea Buxton’s 3rd-place finish in the 100m hurdles and Iaunia Porter’s 6th-place finish in the 400m were the highlights at Duke. At Providence, Baneet Bains and Justus Holden-Betts were 1st and 2nd in the 3000m steeplechase.
For the men, the 4×100 team of James Nmah, Darrell Gill, Malachi Coleman and Malachi James took 4th. Naseem Smith, Isaiah Lewis and Emmanuel Joseph were 6th, 7th and 8th in the 110m hurdles.
The Orange will be at three meets this weekend- Cortland, Albany and Virginia.
