The sophomore is building quite the resume
Syracuse Orange sophomore Benne Anderson takes to the track on Friday night looking to earn a spot in the finals of the mile at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track Championships in Virginia Beach.
Anderson was the final runner to make the 16-man field with his school record 3:54.12 currently 18th fastest in the country this season. He’ll be in the second of two heats on Friday night, which gives him the advantage of knowing how fast he needs to run to advance to the final. In the mile, the top four in each heat and the two fastest times will make it to Saturday night’s final.
This is Anderson’s 2nd NCAA track championship appearance as he was 22nd in the 1500 at last June’s outdoor championships. He’s the first Syracuse distance runner to make the NCAA Indoors meet since Justyn Knight in 2018.
