The Orange alum made her first Team USA appearance
Former Syracuse Orange women’s basketball standout Brittney Sykes was part of Team USA’s silver medal squad at the FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup in Puerto Rico last week.
In her first 3×3 international experience, Sykes led the US squad in scoring with 31 points over the five games. Sykes shot 21-26 (81%) on her 1-point attempts over the tournament and she added 13 rebounds.
The Americans were 4-1 overall, falling to Canada 19-17 in overtime in the title game. Sykes was named to the Team of the Tournament and we’ll see if she’s a candidate to represent the USA in more 3×3 international competitions moving forward.

We know we’ll see Sykes in the inaugural season of Unrivaled, the new women’s basketball league. She is one of the 36 players who will participate in the 3×3 league which will be held in Miami starting next month. Sykes will be part of the Rose Basketball Club squad which also features Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, Lexie Hull, Angel Reese and Azura Stevens. Games will be broadcast on WBD Networks and streaming on Max.
