Fitzgerald becomes FLJ’s third commitment from the class of 2025.
The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team secured its third commitment from the class of 2025 recruiting cycle.
Justus Fitzgerald, a six-foot power forward in the 2025 class, announced on Tuesday she will be committing to the Orange in a post on X. Fitzgerald ended up choosing the Orange over over a top-five list of offers which also included Howard, Georgia State, Furman and Georgetown.
Interesting, it appears Syracuse managed to sneak its way into Fitzgerald’s radar. In a post on X August 2, the Orange weren’t listed among the schools she was originally considering. Syracuse ended up giving an offer to her on August 8, and she now ends up taking her talents to the Orange less than a month after that.

Fitzgerald, who currently attends Norcross High School (GA), plays for their varsity basketball team as well as the club Team Elite 3SSB.
As a six-foot power forward, Fitzgerald’s Hudl profile shows she has also seen time as a shooting guard and small forward. The stats are limited, but versatility is her calling card as someone who can slide up and down the positional ladder. This spring, she made the 7A Girls All-State Team and was named Co-Players of the Year in her region this past year.
To date, Fitzgerald is now the third player coach Felisha Legette-Jack has landed a commitment from out of the players in the class of 2025 cycle. Legette-Jack also got commits from four-star wing Jasmyn Cooper and guard Camdyn Nelson.
With Fitzgerald now in the fold, Syracuse now boasts seven players from the class of 2024 and 2025. Including the trio of 2025 recruits, there is also 2024 four-star wings Keira Scott and Ka’Shya Hawkins, Olivia Schmitt and Madeline Potts.
One could also argue Fitzgerald should provide more forward depth down the line to help offset the loss of Alyssa Latham, a promising recruit who announced she was transferring to Tennessee this offseason.
Welcome to the Orange, Justus!
