Miami survives a big road test
At the request of Syracuse Orange fans, we’re going to give you our ACC Football Power Rankings. Let’s get to this week’s list….
1) Miami Hurricanes (7-0, 3-0)- Miami finally got it right with NIL deals because whatever they are paying Cam Ward is better value than whatever they are paying Mario Cristobal
2) Clemson Tigers (6-1, 5-0)- Dabo finally trusts Cade Klubnik and Clemson’s got 225 points in 5 ACC games.
3) Pittsburgh Panthers (6-0, 2-0)- that gasp you just heard is Jim Phillips thinking about another Pittsburgh-Clemson ACCCG
4) SMU Mustangs (6-1, 3-0)- Look at their schedule, SMU is lurking for an ACC Championship game spot and if they won the CFP auto-bid, oh the takes we’d see
5) Syracuse Orange (5-1, 2-1) – that groan you just heard was Jim Phillips thinking about a Syracuse-SMU ACCCG. Clearly Charlotte will want Syracuse to beat Pitt then have Pitt beat SMU so they can keep that Miami-Clemson title dream alive.
6) Duke Blue Devils (5-1, 1-1)- getting your first ever win over FSU moves you up….even if everyone’s beating the Noles this year
7) Louisville Cardinals (4-3, 2-2)- If Louisville was in the SEC, they’d be receiving votes in the top 25 after only losing to ranked opponents
8) Virginia Cavaliers (4-3, 2-2) – you wanted to dress your team like Syracuse, well now you get the experience the terror of clinging onto bowl hopes for the next six weeks
9) Virginia Tech Hokies (4-3, 2-1) – got an important win by a literal shin which kept BC from driving to tie in the 4th. With all the turmoil in the world it’s good to see that there is some “Night Game at Lane” magic left.
10) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (5-3, 3-2)- after watching what Texas fans did, expect Tech fans to start throwing trash prior to kickoff against Georgia at the end of the season
11) Boston College Eagles (4-3, 1-2)- their next two games are at home against Louisville and Syracuse so Bill O’Brien’s debut season
12) Wake Forest Demon Deacons (3-4, 1-2)- two wins in a row for Wake and they could be the 2nd best time in NC this season
13) NC State Wolfpack (4-4, 1-3)- Dave Doeren’s found his next QB….can he keep him in the off-season?
14) Stanford Cardinal (2-5, 1-3) – Stanford has petitioned the ACC to start their season early so they can play all conference games before their Fall quarter begins.
15) Florida State Seminoles (1-6, 1-5) – bowl hopes hinge on this week’s game against Miami. If FSU truly hated the ACC, this would be the only other game they’d win this year.
16) California Golden Bears (3-4, 0-4)- every Syracuse fan reading this is praying Cal gets an ACC win before the Orange make the trip to Berkeley.
17) North Carolina Tar Heels (3-4, 0-3)- someone should ask Mack Brown how he feels to be coaching UNC’s worst fall sport
