Dan Hurley lands one of the most talented big men in the Class of 2025.
UConn landed a commitment from four-star big man Eric Reibe on Wednesday, joining combo guard Darius Adams in the Huskies’ 2025 recruiting class. Reibe, a 7-footer from Germany attending high school in Potomac, Maryland, chose UConn over offers from Creighton, Oregon, Kansas, and Indiana.
The left-handed Reibe, ranked No. 33 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite rankings, is widely regarded as one of the most skilled big men in his recruiting class. Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports raves about Reibe’s basketball IQ and specifically his abilities as a passer and screener, two key facets in the complex offense Dan Hurley and Luke Murray have installed in Storrs.
Reibe is also comfortable shooting the ball from deep, allowing him to stretch the floor and draw big men out of the paint to cover him around the perimeter. His likely pairing with future frontcourt teammate Tarris Reed Jr. gives Hurley a different look to deploy against certain matchups, something he has come to favor at UConn with the likes of Adama Sanogo and Donovan Clingan in 2022-23 and Clingan and Samson Johnson last season.
With Reibe and Adams now officially in tow, Hurley and the Huskies have the making of yet another elite recruiting class. UConn currently has one more open scholarship spot remaining for next season, assuming all current players return for the 2025-26 season.
