NEW YORK — Five-star small forward and former Indiana pledge Liam McNeeley will head from the Jordan Brand Classic to an official visit at two-time NCAA champion Connecticut.
The 6-foot-7 McNeeley was slated to leave for UConn Sunday night and stay on campus through Tuesday, sources said.
McNeeley, who had 23 points in his team’s loss Sunday night, told Dave Borges of Hearst Media he’s looking forward to the visit.

Ahmad Nowell, one of UConn’s two pledges in the Class of 2024 along with forward Isaiah Abraham played on the winning team, alongside Rutgers pledge Dylan Harper, who went for 30 points, including the game-winner.
McNeeley could bring an Alex Karaban-type game to UConn with his toughness and long-range shooting ability. Karaban is testing the NBA waters, while retaining his college eligibility.
UConn is losing freshman guard Steph Castle and sophomore big man Donovan Clingan to the NBA Draft, but has Michigan transfer forward Tarris Reed Jr. coming in to help offset the loss of Clingan.
Michigan is another school involved for McNeeley, his Montverde Academy coach Kevin Boyle told ZAGSBLOG, but it’s unclear if any other visits have been set.
McNeeley looked superb in splashing several 3’s and also feeding his Montverde teammate and future Duke star Cooper Flagg for an alley oop dunk in front of a crowd that featured Carmelo Anthony and Aaron Judge.

McNeeley and his Montverde (FL) Academy teammates won the Chipotle Nationals title earlier this month for the program’s seventh national championship.
He obtained his release from Indiana last month.
