The UConn superstar will design her own version of the Nike GT Hustle 3.
Paige Bueckers is making history — again. The first freshman ever to be named national player of the year will become the first college athlete to receive a custom sneaker from Nike, according to Sole Retriever.
This isn’t a signature shoe — like Breanna Stewart’s Stewie line with Puma — but a special colorway of the Nike GT Hustle 3, designed by Bueckers herself.
The sneaker will reportedly be multi-colored with two area codes — 860 for Connecticut and 612 for Minnesota — and “Paige’s personal mantra and her nickname”, whatever that may be. The shoe is set to be released on Sept. 12 and will retail for $190.
Bueckers became a Nike athlete back in September 2023, adding the apparel company to her long list of NIL deals alongside the likes of Gatorade, Dunkin’, Bose, Chegg, Nerf and others. She received a custom water bottle when she became the first college athlete signed by Gatorade as well.
