UMass gets the extra point with the shootout win.
The UMass Minutemen got a goal with 17.6 seconds left to force a 3-3 tie with the UConn Huskies men’s hockey team at the Mullins Center in Amherst, MA on Friday night.
After a scoreless overtime, it took eight rounds with UMass winning the shootout, 2-1, for the extra Hockey East point.
