The Huskies will host first in 2025-26.
According to the ever-intrepid Jon Rothstein, the UConn and Arizona men’s basketball programs are finalizing a home-and-home series. The Huskies would host in 2025-26, while the Wildcats would return the favor in 2026-27. Final dates and an announcement are to be decided.
This would be the third such series between the two schools. Arizona took both contests in the most recent agreement, which took place in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, while UConn swept the first one, coming over the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons.
Aside from that, the Huskies claimed victory in the 1999 Great Eight Basketball Tournament in Chicago, the 2005 Maui Invitational and the 2011 NCAA Tournament, when Jeremy Lamb and Kemba Walker played all 40 minutes to help withstand a second-half Wildcat comeback and bring the program to its fourth Final Four.
Head coach Dan Hurley has signaled that UConn is done playing in three-day multi-team events following its 0-3 performance in the 2024 Maui Invitational and will instead opt for one-off neutral site games, such as the Jimmy V Classic, or home-and-home series with elite programs to fill its non-conference schedule. He seems to have his first dance partner in Tommy Lloyd.
