UConn is losing a Top-20 recruit in the 2025 class.
Darius Adams, a McDonald’s All-American has requested his release from UConn after initially committing last September and plans to reopen his recruitment, his mother told ZAGSBLOG.
UConn is loaded with guards and wings including incoming transfers Malachi Smith (Dayton) and Silas Demary Jr. (Georgia) and returners Solo Ball, Jayden Ross and Jaylin Stewart.
They are also adding five-star prospect Braylon Mullins and Tasmanian wing Jacob Furphy.
Adams, a New Jersey native, initially chose UConn over Tennessee and Michigan State, and also visited NC State.
UConn’s recruiting class now consists of Mullins, Furphy and four-star center Eric Reibe.
Adams now stands as the highest-ranked guard still available in the class of 2025.
