The Huskies reach double-digit transfer additions.
UConn football continues to load up on the defensive end, adding two new transfers in linebacker Byrun Parham, defensive back Kamo’i Latu, and wide receiver Reymello Murphy.
Parham and Latu are the Huskies’ eighth and ninth defensive additions out of the portal so far. Murphy is just the team’s third offensive player to join UConn via the portal, bringing the team’s total number of additions to 12.
As a junior in 2023, Parham was a standout with San Jose State, racking up over 100 tackles (106), two-and-a-half sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception. He was honored as an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention before transferring to national champion runner-up Washington. His playing time was cut significantly in 2024, when he appeared in just five games, making 12 tackles and forcing one fumble. He’ll stay a Husky for 2025, but Parham will go across the United States to do it, joining UConn in what will be his graduate season.
Latu has spent the last three seasons playing for the Wisconsin Badgers. His 2024 campaign consisted of just three games, but he was a mainstay on the Badger defense in years prior, appearing in 24 games between 2022-2023. The Honolulu native, like Parham, will join UConn for his graduate season, bolstering the team’s veteran presence.
Murphy hauled in 28 catches in 2023 for the Arizona Wildcats, totaling 502 yards and three touchdowns, but took a backseat in 2024, playing just one game. Against BYU on Oct. 12, the senior had two catches for 38 yards. Murphy will have an opportunity to be a playmaker in the passing game for the Huskies.
UConn was able to hold on to WR Skyler Bell but saw DE Pryce Yate re-enter the portal in the wake of their Fenway Bowl victory on Saturday.
