The No. 27 overall prospect in the 2025 class, Eric Reibe, has committed to UConn. He made the announcement live to 247Sports and chose the Huskies over Creighton, Indiana, Kansas and Oregon.
“I‘ll be committing to UConn because of the special culture,” Reibe said of his decision to ZAGSBLOG. “The offensive play style suits me well with my playmaking abilities. The unselfish team play. The best place to develop as a basketball player and as a person. My relationship with head coach Dan Hurley and his coaching staff. Oh, and they did just win back-to-back national championships.”
Reibe — the 7-foot, 235-pound center from The Bullis School (MD) and the PRO16 Puma AAU circuit — is ranked the No. 1 overall prospect in Maryland and No. 4 center in the 2025 class. He is originally from Germany and grew up there until he was eight. Reibe then moved to Switzerland, where he started playing basketball, and back to Germany by himself when he was 14. During that time, Reibe played for a club called Ulm. When he was 16 he moved to the United States.

“I’ll be bringing all of my capabilities to contribute to the Husky family,” Reibe said. “Highest effort and work ethic. Living and breathing the UConn culture. Learning everyday to get better. A winning mentality.”
Reibe just said “I’m happy to be a f****** Husky” to close his announcement with 247Sports.

Reibe has grown a lot during his time at Bullis, per his coach Bruce Kelley.
“He is more dominant as a low post scorer in addition to his ability to spread the court with his passing and shooting ability,” Kelley said. “What he and our coaching staff are most happy with is his development on the defensive end. He can now cover most actions on the perimeter. Big E has so much potential to become even more of a force. We at Bullis are so happy for E and believe Coach Hurley and his coaching staff will help Eric reach his full potential. Today is a good day”
Dan Hurley has now secured two 2025 prospects, both who rank in the top-30. Reibe joins five-star Darius Adams. They are in the mix for some other prospects in the class including five-star guard Braylon Mullins, who announces next Wednesday, and four-star forward Niko Bundalo. Guards Meleek Thomas and Acaden Lewis have also visited campus officially.
