The Huskies’ slate for their second full season in Toscano Family Ice Forum is set.
UConn’s two hockey teams released their respective 2024-25 schedules on Friday.
The opener for the women is on Sept. 27 against Minnesota while the men start on Oct. 5 vs. Colgate — both of which are at Toscano Family Ice Forum.
Men’s hockey
Mike Cavanaugh’s crew will play just four games at the XL Center in Hartford, down from six last season with Connecticut Ice set to be held at Sacred Heart. Those contests will be Holy Cross on Oct. 12, Vermont on Nov. 2, Providence on Feb. 1 and UMass Lowell Feb. 8. Toscano Family Ice Forum will host the rest of the home slate.
In non-conference action, UConn will play Colgate at home on Oct. 5-6, Holy Cross in a home-and-home on Oct. 11 and 12, Harvard on the road on Jan. 4 — the third straight year the two schools will play around the New Year — and Alaska Anchorage at Toscano on Feb. 12 in individual matchups.
The Huskies will also play in two tournaments: The Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off in Milwaukee on Dec. 28-29 and the annual CT Ice on Jan. 24-25. The rest of the field out west features Wisconsin, Alaska Fairbanks and Ferris State, though the matchups have not been revealed. As for the latter, UConn will battle Quinnipiac in the first game at 4 p.m. ET at Sacred Heart’s Martire Family Arena.
Hockey East play begins with Oct. 18. The Huskies will play a home-and-home against every team, then will face four teams in a three-game series: Vermont, UMass (two at home, one away), Maine and UMass Lowell (two away, one at home).
UConn only has to get on a plane once this season — the tournament in Milwaukee. Other big road trips are the visit to New Hampshire on Jan. 10, the trek to Orono, Maine on Jan. 17-18, a potential final game at Matthews Arena on Mar. 1 and the journey to Burlington for Vermont on Mar. 6. The Huskies have just a single home game between Nov. 15 and Feb. 1, but then are home for the entire month of February.
All but four contests will be on a weekend. The exceptions are Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Boston College, Wednesday, Feb. 15 vs. Alaska Anchorage, Tuesday, Feb. 25, vs. BU and Thursday, Mar. 6 at Vermont.

Women’s hockey
Coming off the best season in program history, UConn women’s hockey’s 2024-25 schedule is now out. The campaign unofficial opens on Sept. 21 with a home exhibition vs. Quinnipiac before beginning in earnest with a series against Minnesota on Sept. 27-28 at Toscano Family Ice Forum.
The Huskies will raise their Hockey East regular season and tournament championship banners in that first contest with the Golden Gophers.
Elsewhere in non-conference play, UConn will take on Penn State at home on Oct. 4-5, Harvard on the road on Oct. 19, and the Nutmeg Classic on Nov. 29-30 at Sacred Heart.
Conference action begins in the third weekend of the year with a home-and-home against UNH on Oct. 11-12. In total, the Huskies have 34 games with half of those coming at Toscano. The regular season closes on Feb. 22 at BU.
Every home game and Hockey East contest will air on ESPN+.
