The Huskies’ roster for the season is officially complete.
With First Night and the regular season fast approaching, Dan Hurley has finished rounding out the roster for the 2024-25 season. UConn announced Tuesday that the team has added Souleymane Diaby, a 6-foot-5 junior guard, to the roster as a walk-on. Diaby replaces walk-ons Andre Johnson and Andrew Hurley, who is now a manager with the Huskies.
Diaby, a Springfield, Massachusetts native, will wear No. 43 for the Huskies. He last played for Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois, where he averaged 5.5 points per game in 22 games during the 2023-23 season. Prior to his time with the Trailblazers, Diaby spent a post-grad year at the MacDuffie School in Granby, Massachusetts.
Diaby has a chance to see some significant action in the month of November, where UConn will play five teams that are ranked 319th or lower in KenPom. KenPom projects the Huskies to win those five games by an average north of 30 points, meaning Diaby may have a chance to get his first Division I points.
Out of UConn’s 40 games last season, Andrew Hurley appeared in 18 games, while Johnson appeared in 13.
