The Huskies are No. 2 for the second week in a row.
UConn men’s basketball stayed at No. 2 in this week’s AP poll after the Huskies took down East Texas A&M 81-46 last week. The Huskies (4-0) received six first-place votes this week, the most of any school besides No. 1 Kansas.
UConn is joined by conference mates No. 10 Marquette, No. 21 Creighton and No. 22 Xavier. The Musketeers jumped into the poll after starting out the season 5-0. St. John’s dropped out of the poll after a loss to now No. 17 Baylor last week, but received votes along with Providence.
Future opponent Gonzaga also stayed in the same spot in this week’s poll at No. 3. UConn’s Maui Invational opponent Memphis received votes this week along with Michigan State, who the Huskies could see in game two on Tuesday. The bottom of the Maui Invitational bracket is heavily represented in the AP Poll No. 4 Auburn, No. 5 Iowa State, No. 12 North Carolina. UConn will see one of those three teams or Dayton in its third Maui Invitational game on Wednesday.
