Another date on the Huskies’ schedule is out.
Another date is out on UConn women’s basketball’s 2024-25 schedule. The Huskies will travel to face defending national champions South Carolina on Feb. 16, the school announced on Wednesday.
Since the teams began their an annual series in 2015, every regular season contest has been held in February (excluding the Battle 4 Atlantis matchup in 2021). UConn is 9-5 all-time against the Gamecocks, though Dawn Staley’s squad has won the last four meetings.
While the schools typically trade home games every year, the Huskies will take their second consecutive trip to Columbia to make up the 2021-22 matchup that the two schools agreed to cancel.
UConn and South Carolina once again project to be national title contenders this season. The Gamecocks return nearly everyone from their undefeated championship squad while the Huskies should have their best roster in years so long as everyone stays healthy.
There are now six dates out on UConn’s schedule:
Nov. 10: USF (home)
Nov. 15: UNC (Greensboro, NC)
Dec. 7: Louisville (Barclays Center, Brooklyn)
Dec. 17: Iowa (Mohegan Sun Arena)
Dec. 21: USC (home)
Feb. 16: South Carolina (away)
The Huskies will also face Notre Dame and Tennessee on the road, though no dates have been released for those two contests. UConn still needs two more non-conference games and a multi-team event to round out its non-conference slate.
