94.5-sack legend linebacker Pro Bowler, Jason Pierre-Paul is seeking an NFL comeback and he could by signing with the Ravens, Chiefs among other suitors. According to one report, the veteran is in great shape and is ready to contribute so it shouldn’t surprise anyone if a team gives him one more chance. Even though he hasn’t played in the league for almost a year, he could be a vital rotational pass rusher for a defensive line that needs extra depth. Originally selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, the linebacker was one of the elite edge rushers in the league after spending most of his career with the New York Giants.
However, injuries like a hand injury from Fourth of July fireworks have been dwindling his production ever to be the same player he once was. It didn’t stop his appearance as an effective pass rusher after proving to win a Super Bowl with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pierre-Paul probably won’t be anything more than nostalgia but a playoff-needy team may sign him on a one-year deal. A roster will likely sign him on a practice squad until they’re ready to elevate him to the starting squad in time for the postseason.
While he’ll likely audition for a role, one NFL team might need his services as the final puzzle piece for a Super Bowl run. Pierre-Paul has the experience that would be effective as long as he stays healthy.

Next Possible Teams
Baltimore Ravens
A reunion in Baltimore could be possible being that the Ravens defense needs more balance since losing Yannick Nagkoue off waivers this season. However, they lost several key pass rushers like Jadeveon Clowney so guys like David Ojabo and Odafe Oweh had to make up for their absences. They haven’t been as efficient but their inexperience might be what holds them back from reaching a Super Bowl. Pierre-Paul might not do much of anything but his presence could be useful to fill the gaps like how they were using him in 2022.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are looking like a team that will likely be reliant on the mindset of “defense wins championships.” Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and DeAndre Hopkins on one team hasn’t been enough to make this offense stellar so they might as well start stacking on defensive talent. Pierre-Paul might not reach more than five sacks but he could help Josh Uche, Felix Anudike-Uzomah and George Karlaftis. After losing L’Jarius Sneed this past offseason, the Chiefs have been looking for a new veteran spark and while Pierre-Paul might not be the permanent solution, he could temporarily make a few vital tackles to stop the run.
Los Angeles Chargers
Meanwhile, there’s no one better for an NFL veteran to end their career with an improved defense under defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. Jim Harbaugh loves the ground game but he expresses joy for winning football matchups in the trenches. As Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack will become free agents in 2025, this may force the Chargers to give Pierre-Paul a chance. However, they could give him an opportunity this postseason since Bosa has been struggling to replicate Mack’s production.
