Four-year veteran safety Javon Holland signed a new contract with the New York Giants. Holland, a former second-round pick, spent the entirety of his career with the Miami Dolphins.

Jevon Holland is coming off another strong season leading the Miami Dolphins secondary. Starting and appearing in 15 games, the former second-round pick finished the season with four passes defended, one forced fumble, one sack, 62 tackles, two tackles-f0r-loss, two quarterback hits, and a 63.0 PFF grade, the 57th-best mark of 98 eligible players. Despite his reliable play, the Miami Dolphins missed the playoffs, thanks in large part to Tua Tagovailoa’s concussions.
Hollard originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Selected by the Miami Dolphins, the Oregon product immediately made a name for himself as one of the league’s better safeties. Starting in 13 games while appearing in 16, the rookie finished his inaugural season with two interceptions, three fumble recoveries, 2.5 sacks, 69 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, seven quarterback hits, and an 84.7 PFF grade, the fourth-best mark of 92 eligible players.
Mike McDaniel took over the Miami Dolphins in 2022 and Holland struggled to adapt to the new defensive scheme. While he started all 17 games, he wasn’t quite as productive as he was under former head coach Brian Flores. While on the field, the defensive back recorded two interceptions, 1.5 sacks, 96 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, one quarterback hit, and a 67.2 PFF grade, the 40th-best mark of 88 eligible players. Fortunately, he bounced back in 2023, finishing the year with an elite 90.4 PFF grade, the third-best ranking in the league.
Since signing his rookie contract, Jevon Holland has appeared in 60 games while making 57 starts. While on the field, the former second-round pick has recorded five interceptions, 25 passes defended, five forced fumbles, five sacks, 301 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, and 10 quarterback hits. The Oregon product is still looking for his first playoff win.
