Adoree Jackson, New York Giants, Agree to Contract
Jackson, a former 1st round pick, spent the first four seasons of his professional career with the Tennessee Titans. He started all 16 games during his rookie year, recording 17 pass deflections, and three forced fumbles, but zero interceptions. Jackson also contributed as a kick returner and punt returner but failed to record any touchdowns.
In his second season, Jackson played in all 16 games and recorded his first career interception in a win against the Houston Texans. Jackson finished the season with 73 total tackles, 10 pass deflections, and two interceptions. His role was reduced as a kick and punt returner.
His third year was a bit unproductive, only playing in 11 games, and recording 45 total tackles and no interceptions. During the playoffs however, Jackson started three games as the Titans reached the AFC Championship Game and recorded five pass deflections, and nine combined tackles.
Jackson’s fifth-year option was exercised by the Titans before his fourth season with the team. Jackson unfortunately suffered a knee injury in practice prior to the regular season and was placed on injured reserve. He made his season debut during week 14 and played a total of three games. Jackson was released by the Titans the following off-season despite picking up his fifth-year option.
Shortly after his release, Jackson signed a three-year, 39-million-dollar contract with the New York Giants. Jackson has not started a full season during his tenure with the Giants. Despite some injuries, Jackson played like a shutdown cornerback in his first two seasons allowing 751 combined yards. In his third season with the Giants, he recorded his first career pick-six, when he intercepted Jalen Hurts for a 76-yard touchdown.
