Other Giant observations
Giants reuniting with Antonio Pierce is compelling possibility — but there’s a big problem | New York Post
The idea came to mind the moment it was announced that Antonio Pierce was fired by the Raiders after his first full season as the head coach. Bring AP back to the Giants. Make him the new defensive coordinator.
The fact that the position is not open, that Shane Bowen just completed his first season running the Giants defense, did not matter much to those who wanted to make the connection and reunite Pierce with the franchise that benefited greatly from having him play middle linebacker for them.
Pugh: Right move to bring back Daboll, Schoen

Cracks showing in Giants partnership with Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll | New York Daily News
Daniel Jones is being used as this year’s scapegoat. And now it feels like Brian Daboll is being set up to have it pinned on him in 2025 to protect Joe Schoen into 2026.

Making the first team were WR Malik Nabers and S Tyler Nubin, RB Tyrone Tracy and CB Andru Phillips earned second team honors while TE Theo Johnson, DT Elijah Chatman (Giants) and LB Darius Muasau (Giants) were honorable mentions.
Drew Allar: NY Giants QB option at NFL Draft 2025? | The Record
If Allar and Penn State are able to defeat Notre Dame and reach the CFP championship game, where they would play the Texas-Ohio State winner, the deadline for players to declare is January 24, four days after the title is decided.
“All it takes is one team looking at Allar winning a couple playoff games and saying, ‘We love the progression, we like where he’s headed, this is the guy for us,’” said draft analyst Dane Brugler. “So, even though body of work is what matters over much of this, sometimes subconsciously the way these guys play in big games, that takes precedence.”

2025 NFL Draft: 3 intriguing prospects for every team with a top-10 pick | PFF
If the Giants cannot secure a quarterback or address the issue before draft weekend, cornerback will likely become a primary focus, given their struggles in that area this season. Their cornerbacks combined for a 62.6 coverage grade, allowing the fourth-highest EPA per pass. Both Travis Hunter and Michigan’s Will Johnson could provide the caliber of talent needed to stabilize the position and anchor the secondary.
Giants’ Deonte Banks facing make-or-break third season | New York Post
Banks took a step backward in his second NFL season, when he allowed 49 catches for 689 yards and six touchdowns, according to Pro Football Focus.
“I really do know what it’s about now,” Banks said. “I didn’t know some stuff, but I think I know what I need to do and what’s being asked of me. I want to follow the No. 1 [receiver]. But I don’t get into that whole label. I’m cool with whatever. I just want to go out and play and do what I do.”

2025 NFL Offseason Trade Block Big Board Entering Wild Card Playoffs | Bleacher Report
Teams that could be interested in Evan Neal are those with questions at offensive tackle who want a low-risk rookie contract. The Cleveland Browns are just such a team. Impending free agent Jedrick Wills Jr. hasn’t worked out as Cleveland’s left tackle, the Browns are projected to be $21 million over the salary cap and are likely to use the second overall pick in the draft on a new quarterback. The Baltimore Ravens are projected to have just $11.8 million in cap space and could lose Ronnie Stanley in free agency. Pairing a rookie tackle with Neal could be a strategy the Ravens consider.
