Other Giant observations
Victor Cruz believes the New York Giants need to evaluate the talent they have across the board | SBNation.com
Victor noted that the Giants have to figure out a North Star of sorts and move forward with it with regards to the rebuild that they are going to undergo. It is extraordinarily difficult to succeed in the NFL, even if you have wildly talented people on your roster. I don’t know that this is the case for this year’s Giants team, but I know that it is very difficult to be as consistently bad as they have been since Cruz and others moved on from the organization.

Giants release Daniel Jones: What it means for N.Y. and what comes next for the QB | The Athletic
Why the Giants made the move: My read on Daniel Jones’ release: It’s mutually beneficial, but the Giants weren’t going to make the first move.
If Jones was fine showing up every day and going through the motions as QB4, they would have gone along with that. But once he asked out, they (obviously) were going to grant that wish. — Dan Duggan, Giants beat writer
Giants’ Brian Daboll’s handling of Daniel Jones situation might just lose him the locker room — and lead to his firing | NJ.com
Daniel Jones mostly stood on the sideline with his hands in his pockets at Wednesday’s Giants practice. He was a scout team safety at Thursday’s practice. On Friday, he was released.
Dabs’ Digest: Week 12 conversation with Coach Brian Daboll | Giants.com
Q: In the three games you won when he was the quarterback last year, the defense and special teams had 12 takeaways. You always talk about complementary football. Is that a good example?
Daboll: “That’s something that was a big part of our bye week study. This year, teams that have won the turnover ratio in a game, all the teams combined have won 76% of the time. Just start with that right there. We haven’t done a good enough job of taking care of the ball or getting the ball. The games that we’ve played, we’re already behind the eight ball with just that in general. Making sure we’re taking care of the ball is something we emphasize on a daily basis. Drill work, tape study, presentation, and then getting the ball, too. That’s something we’re going to have to do a good job of this next half of the season. A better job in that area.”
Tommy DeVito reacts to the release of Daniel Jones
“Obviously it’s a tough thing to go through, but he knows that he has all of our support as a team.”

Tyrone Tracy remembers the moment down to the finest detail.
It was Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft and Tracy, sporting a brown, paisley jacket with a white shirt underneath, sat in a hotel banquet hall in his hometown of Indianapolis, surrounded by hoards of his closest friends and family members.

2025 NFL Draft No. 1 Pick Chances: Examining Current Last-Place Scenarios for Giants | ProFootballNetwork.com
New York Giants (2-8). The Browns’ win on TNF is the New York Giants’ gain as they now have a 21.3% chance to earn the first overall pick entering Week 12, the highest odds of any team. New York has a roughly average remaining strength of schedule (14th-hardest), with a Thanksgiving visit to Dallas serving as one of its best remaining opportunities for a win. Depending on DeVito’s development from his rookie season, the Giants could harbor better chances to pick No. 1 than these projections suggest.

There can be life after the Giants — Sterling Shepard can attest to it | New York Post
“It’s just different, in so many different ways and so many different levels,’’ he said. “When it goes down to the small things, what you can do in the building as a player, the way you’re able to communicate and be hand-in-hand with the coaches, it’s just a lot of different things I kinda picked up on being there for so long. Even down to the training staff or the weight coaches and some of the different stuff that we do here, it’s a difference…I’m not saying the way that they do it is bad, because it’s not. It’s just different and I’ve gotten to see the other side of it.’’
