Giants Among Least Successful Drafting Teams in First Three Rounds Over Last 10 Years | SI.com

According to former NFL scout Daniel Kelly data, the Giants ranked 26th overall in the first round, which is not too great considering their average draft spot has been high in the top half of the round (12.5). The 13 first-round Giants draft picks have contributed 50.4% of the team’s games thus far, ranking 21st. They have averaged 45.1 games played during their respective stints with the team.

On Day 2, the Giants ranked slightly better but only by two spots (24th). They have 21 picks made between Rounds 2 and 3, who appeared in 1,148 games for them. But there have been just four Pro Bowl berths, three of them by second-round pick safety Landon Collins (R2, 2015).

Defensive line: The Giants secured some veteran depth (Roy Robertson-Harris, Jeremiah Ledbetter) in free agency, so they should have a better defensive line rotation behind Dexter Lawrence, but they’re still lacking an impact player to line up next to Lawrence. The All-Pro is at his best when he’s playing alongside another quality defensive lineman, so expect the Giants to try to find a player who can fill that role on Day 2.

3. New York Giants DI Mason Graham. The Giants face an intriguing decision at No. 3 overall. If Travis Hunter is off the board and they aren’t ready to take a quarterback, Abdul Carter seems like the logical fallback. But New York’s bigger need may actually lie on the interior, where Dexter Lawrence stands alone. Mason Graham — college football’s highest-graded defensive tackle in 2024 — could be a perfect running mate.

Emerging as one of Cam Ward’s top targets, Miami’s Elijah Arroyo was impressive with a 16.9 yards per catch average and seven touchdowns. Arroyo didn’t run at the combine — he was recovering from a knee injury he sustained at the Senior Bowl — but he did bench-press 225 pounds 22 times. He missed most of the 2022 and 2023 seasons due to a torn ACL in his left knee. Arroyo played 36 games over four seasons while at Miami, catching 46 passes for 753 yards and eight touchdowns. His untapped potential likely puts Arroyo as a Day 2 pick.

Don Hasselbeck, former Super Bowl champion, ex-Giant and father of two NFL QBs, dead at 70 | New York Post

Former NFL tight end Don Hasselbeck, who won a Super Bowl in his nine-year career and was the father of two NFL quarterbacks, died Monday. He was 70.

Hasselbeck’s son, Matt, said his father died after going into cardiac arrest at his home, writing “He was a great husband, father, grandfather, friend, coach, player, coworker, artist, mentor, and storyteller. Despite being an All-American at Colorado and a Super Bowl Champion with the Raiders, what we are most proud of is the leader he was for our family.”
