Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward dominate selections — of course
It is all quarterback all the time for the New York Giants in the latest version of our weekly Giants 2025 NFL Mock Draft Tracker.
There are 75 mocks in this week’s edition with 59 of those (78.7%) giving the Giants a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick. Thirty-three of those (44%) have the Giants taking Shedeur Sanders, often with Cam Ward of Miami already off the board. As for Ward, 26 mock drafts (34.7%) have him landing with the Giants.
Pro Football Network’s Brentley Weissman gave the Giants Ward with Sanders still on the board. He wrote:
Head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen enter next season firmly on the hot seat and must perform well to keep their jobs. The team desperately needs a new quarterback and Cam Ward has the playmaking ability to excel in Daboll’s offense.
Ward is a big-armed quarterback with outstanding ability to find the open man at all three levels of the field. He has the highest upside of all the passers in this year’s class. Ward showing promise as a rookie passer may just do the trick in saving this regime’s jobs.
With Ward off the board in his mock, NFL.com’s Dan Parr bypassed Sanders for Travis Hunter. He wrote:
Can the Giants pull off a blockbuster swap for Matthew Stafford? If the G-Men decide to go the trade or free agency route to find their next QB and manage to keep the No. 3 pick, they could find themselves able to land the Heisman Trophy winner, too, who could help them on both sides of the ball.
Josh Edwards of CBS Sports gave the Giants Sanders — with Ward off the board. He wrote:
New York wants a reason to be excited and a young quarterback delivers that belief. The Giants are desperate for an upgrade at the game’s post important position and Shedeur Sanders is more than capable of handling the pressure in the Big Apple.
If the Giants are able to pull off a Stafford trade, which I continue to see as highly unlikely, that would change what they do with the No. 3 pick — assuming they keep it. For now, though, quarterback is the overwhelming consensus at the top for the Giants.
