New York Giants rookie Malik Nabers is having a stellar training camp thus far. And although we’re still a month away from the regular season, it’s becoming difficult not to buy into the hype surrounding the budding star.
The LSU product has been tearing it up in practice, both against Giants’ top cornerback Deonte Banks or in the joint practices earlier this week against the Detroit Lions.
Clearly, the Giants are going to feature their first-round draft pick heavily this season.
Nabers has beat writers and NFL insiders posting highlights at a breakneck pace.
It’s hard to stop posting Malik Nabers highlights when he keeps making plays like this against opposing defensive backs.
Guy is unstoppable.

NFL insider Adam Schefter believes Nabers could be an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate — arguably the favorite.

“Let’s go back to what Jordan [Ranaan] said about Malik Nabers getting nine targets during (Monday’s) scrimmage and let’s go back to before the draft when the Giants had Malik Nabers rated as the top wide receiver in this draft,” Schefter said on NFL Live. “There were some teams out there that thought that Malik Nabers was a better wide receiver prospect than Marvin Harrison Jr., who went to Arizona.
“If Malik Nabers is what the Giants and some other teams think, how much of a difference can one dominant rookie wide receiver make on an offense? What can one player do for one team? And the Giants believe it’s an awful lot. And the way he’s looked in the early part of training camp, he has looked like a candidate for the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
“And if Nabers can somehow be that player this season, it’ll be really interesting to see what a difference one player can make.”
It certainly looks like the offense is going to run through Nabers, who should get plenty of targets and allow the Giants to push the ball downfield.
If the play in training camp carries over to the regular season, there should be no reason Nabers isn’t a top candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
