The Ravens and Chiefs may consider adding potential trade candidate wide receiver, Jalin Hyatt this season. One report says the Giants don’t plan to trade him regardless of him not being a main contributor to the starting lineup. Hyatt was the 2023 NFL Draft third-round selection but logged 28 offensive snaps and targeted once. He sits behind Darius Slayton on the depth chart who’s been a hot name in trade rumors these past weeks.
The Giants may be sellers this upcoming trade deadline, depending on the outcome of the last couple of weeks. Whether it’s Slayton or Hyatt, New York could deal an enormous amount of talent so they can rebuild behind a new franchise quarterback. Daniel Jones continues to be a disappointment even after signing a long-term extension in 2023. The only time the Giants could get Hyatt in the starting lineup is if Malik Nabers or Wan’Dale Robinson suffers an injury.
Hyatt reiterates that he never said he wants to move on but earlier reports say otherwise. He has his frustrations in a backup role and if the Giants don’t use him, then what are they doing keeping him around? The Tennessee Product is focusing on this year but New York would be foolish not being sellers this season if they’re enduring another losing year.

Giants Should Reconsider Trading Him
New York may wind up considering all options on the table. Slayton continues to be a part of plenty of trade rumors so that should open the door for them to think differently. Jones probably won’t take this team anywhere but out of the playoff picture so it’s safe to bet on building up draft stock. It’s a brutal beginning for the Giants and things will only probably get worse if they bench Daniel Jones.
Hyatt might say he’s sticking with New York but some other teams that could call for his services may change his mind.
Super Worthy Teams
Let’s take it like this, the Giants are nowhere near a Super Bowl Caliber team. They probably won’t reach a wildcard but teams like the Ravens and Chiefs could keep an eye on Hyatt. He won’t change the outcome of football games but adding a younger receiver could establish some backup help for the long haul. Hyatt is hungry and it’s not like he’s injured so maybe this is what Super Bowl teams should go after.
A homegrown receiver capable of getting some starting play like behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman could benefit them. Nelson Agholor continues to be lackluster and DeVontez Walker probably won’t be ready so both Walker and Hyatt should establish some upcoming chemistry. However, the depth chart behind Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice in Kansas City is lacking after losing Marquise Brown for the year. Hyatt could be a better version of Kadarius Toney.
Other Possible Trade Destinations
Carolina Panthers
There’s chaos happening in Carolina after benching Bryce Young so they should start thinking about 2025. Adam Thielen and Diontae Johnson will likely move on to new teams which opens the door for rookie Xavier Legette to get a potential starting role. Hyatt could get that opportunity in Carolina if they want to build a new slew of receivers for whatever quarterback they stick with. No one should expect the Panthers to stick with Andy Dalton beyond the 2024 campaign since he’s just a one-and-done type player for a team that needs depth.
Los Angeles Chargers
Adding receivers for Justin Herbert has been disappointing, especially when he thrives when throwing the football. Jim Harbaugh can depend on the run game all he wants but he needs at least a receiver next to Ladd McConkey to catch darts. No one has seen what Hyatt could do when he has a starting job but he may produce numbers if given the opportunity. Quentin Johnston and journeyman Joshua Palmer probably won’t stick around for long so they might well build new receivers behind McConkey since he’s at least impressing.
Dallas Cowboys
Who does the Cowboys have besides CeeDee Lamb on the receiver depth chart? Brandin Cooks thrives on some plays but Jalen Tolbert’s first season as a starter will come with some growing pains. There’s a lack of receivers after that since Jalen Brooks probably won’t make the roster next season. However, the Cowboys should start building a legitimate supporting cast of weapons so Dak Prescott has another young receiver with untapped potential.
