The Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers are among the destinations for Super Hero bust wideout, Kadarius Toney this regular season. According to sources, after meeting with the Seattle Seahawks, the veteran is still without an NFL opportunity but should be able to sign soon. The playmaker wasn’t able to establish himself with the Giants or Chiefs but he was able to win two Super Bowls. However, he still has the talent and skills to be a reliable route-runner to get open in critical moments so any team looking for depth should keep an eye on him.
Toney didn’t get his way as he made mental mistakes, so the Chiefs are moving on with JuJu Smith-Schuster to take over. After Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice look like Tyreek Hill 2.0 with their speed against the Ravens, it shows why Kansas City isn’t bringing back Toney. This doesn’t take away from Toney’s contributions, notching the longest punt return in Super Bowl history. He could do the same with the Seahawks if they sign him even though they top three at receiver.
However, Toney could carve out a role in Seattle’s new regime as the WR4 behind a roster carrying Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf and second-year Jaxon Smith-Njiba. It won’t take long before Toney signs with a team so he should be able to garner interest as the regular season progresses. He won’t be the same player since the injury-prone talent’s stock has been falling but it would be a surprise if he’s still on the market after the season.

Potential Destinations
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens’ loss against the Chiefs clearly shows they need another receiver to accommodate WR3 veteran, Nelson Agholor. He was a part of the mix but there was some miscommunication so there will be some growing pains for him to establish in this offense. However, Lamar Jackson was reliant on backup running back Justice Hill and second-string Tight End Isaiah Likely in the NFL opener. This means while Jackson may have got some looks to pass it to Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman but it didn’t frequently happen.
Both made a few crucial plays but nothing consistent to keep the drive going. While they went against one of the best defenses, it may not be excusable since likely Baltimore will see Kansas City again in the playoffs. Toney won’t change the offense completely but it gives Jackson another weapon in the short slant route to get open to make a quick pass.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are setting themselves up for a change in their offense in preparation against the Saints. However, it won’t be the perfect performance since there is always room for improvement. After trading for Diontae Johnson, it was clear Dave Canales was focusing on getting a supporting cast for Bryce Young. Rookie Xavier Legette is set to get some looks down the field next to an older Adam Thielen so someone like Toney could be a WR4 for the time being.
He has the raw potential to come in on drives to put on a crucial play or two if he can stay healthy and catch the football.
Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles could use another slot receiver even though they were attempting to replace Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. The outlook doesn’t look pretty unless they could prove everyone wrong on Sunday. However, signing just DJ Chark to help Quentin Johnston in the slot game won’t bring much but potential mediocracy. The team is hoping that rookie Ladd McConkey can establish himself which it’s been paying off but when you have him in the mix where he hasn’t taken a snap in the NFL, it’s concerning.
Johnston had one of the rookie seasons last year so if he doesn’t improve, it should surprise anyone if they cut him and bring in Toney if he’s available. Joshua Palmer is another journeyman next to Chark so Toney could reach an average ceiling under this depth chart.
New Orleans Saints
It’s Derek Carr and Chris Olave against the world unless they’re reliant on their backfield again in the passing game. The Saints still have one of the worst offensive lines but it doesn’t get better when you have Rashid Shaheed and A.T. Perry on the wideout depth chart. New Orleans needs another man to get wide open and while Toney has championship experience, he can get it done for emergencies if the passing game is slacking.
