It’s going to be a bit odd seeing Saquon Barkley in a new uniform for this season.
He spent the first six seasons of his career with the New York Giants before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles during free agency.
That has made him public enemy No. 1 in New York and Barkley knows that he could’ve handled his exit a bit better.
“I had a goodbye video to Giants fans (but) I don’t think I handled that situation right at all,” Barkley said, (first transcribed by ProFootballTalk). “I said a quick thank you to the Giants fans, but I actually had a legit response like a goodbye, and I let the hate on Twitter take me away from that, and that was really immature of me, and that’s the one thing about that whole process that I kind of regret.”
Barkley added that he saw a lot of fans wearing his jersey during his time with the Giants and wished he could’ve said goodbye in a better way.
He’ll now get to see those same fans twice a season since the Eagles are arguably the Giants’ biggest NFC East rival.
The first matchup will take place on October 20 at MetLife Stadium.
