I actually thought the Giants were somewhat competitive. It hurts when your OL has Lemieux as a turnstile. Neal still has issues. The Defense couldn’t get off the field with too many surrendered 3rd down conversions. The 49ers do flares and screens, so it’s sickening when they do a WR bubble screen and grab 30 on a 3rd & 15. The flags were disgusting.
Hyatt had roughly 9 or 10 snaps and zero targets. I know that Jones doesn’t have time to throw but you must get this kid involved in the Offense. The Niners are sitting on all of the small stuff.
Micah McFadden had a breakout game. If the Giants can keep improving their play from week to week while developing players like McKethan, the rookies, and McFadden, by season’s end the Giants will be putting themselves in a position to compete at a high level.
Injuries are accumulating. Maybe with 11 days the Giants can get back Bredeson Thomas Barkley (?) and one or two who were hurt tonight.
Seattle is another important game to grab a win. They need to grab a W, else the hole will be too big. Yet the way they played tonight vs a top team gives me some confidence they can compete. It starts with a line where Thomas Bredeson Schmitz McKethan and Neal give time to spread the field. And it finishes with the Giants Defense getting off the field after 3rd down.
