That was an inspired win vs an improved GB team. Barkley’s fumble was almost too much to take. But Tommy DeVito bailed him and the Giants out by making a beautiful pass to WanDale Robinson for 32 yards to set up the winning FG.
The Giants Defense fared better than the Lions and Chiefs the past 2 games vs the Pack. They kept GB’s offense off balance enough to stay in the game, adding turnovers and field position.
DeVito was a game manager. He scrambled efficiently. He wasn’t sacked all night. It helps having a semblance of an Offensive Line with Thomas Pugh JMS Bredeson and Phillips. No, the Giants didn’t put DeVito on 7 step dropbacks; he was 17 for 21 and ran for 71 yards.
DeVito is a nice cheap backup who has won 3 straight. He’s fun to root for. It’ll strike midnight for Cinderella, probably vs the Eagles in 2 weeks. Just don’t tell anyone in Jersey.
