Maybe it would have made a difference, maybe it would not.
But it appears the New York Jets (3-8) were not on the same page at one point in their 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts (5-6) in Week 11.
In the fourth quarter, quarterback Aaron Rodgers found tight end Kenny Yeboah for an 11-yard touchdown. That should put the Jets up seven points.
Cameras caught Rodgers signaling that New York would attempt a two-point conversion. The Jets did not.
After the contest, Rodgers said he discussed the scenario with interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich and the coaching staff and the idea was to go for two. Evidently Ulbrich changed his mind and Rodgers said he was “confused” as to what changed when he was on the field.
Post game, Ulbrich mentioned he was “confident” in his defense at that point so he decided to just kick the extra point.
An interesting turn of events there.
Rodgers’ full thoughts can be found in the clip below:
“The reason I was thinking is because we had a conversation on the sideline and I was under the impression the decision was before the drive, we were going to go for two.”
