I pick my favorite FanDuel Sportsbook player prop bets to consider for Week 1 Monday Night Football
The San Francisco 49ers host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in week 1 of the NFL season this week, with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. EST. Let’s take a look at some of my favorite player prop bets for this MNF matchup.
All odds come courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
Jets vs. 49ers
Brock Purdy, Under 240.5 passing yards (-113)
The Jets are a really difficult team to pass against. They have the best cornerback group in the NFL. Last year the Jets gave up more than 240 passing yards in just four out of 17 games. On the other hand, last year Brock Purdy surpassed 240 passing yards in all but one home game. It’s a tough call, but with Trent Williams and Brandon Aiyuk less than 100%, I think the 49ers try to beat the Jets where they’re more vulnerable, on the ground. Give me the under on Brock Purdy and 240.5 passing yards.
Aaron Rodgers, Under 0.5 interceptions (-114)
Aaron Rodgers throws interceptions at the lowest rate in NFL history. Over his last 50 games (not including his four snaps last season), Rodgers has thrown an interception in just 17 of those games. Give me the under on Aaron Rodgers and 0.5 interceptions.
Breece Hall, Over 64.5 rushing yards (-113)
If the 49ers have a weakness on defense, it’s defending against the run. Last year they ranked just 14th in the NFL in yards per attempt. The 49ers had fewer rushing attempts against them than any team in the NFL, largely because they were often blowing out opponents. I expect the Jets defense to keep this game close, and the Jets offense to commit to the ground game. Give me the over on Breece Hall and 64.5 rushing yards.
George Kittle, Over 43.5 receiving yards (-113)
The Jets outstanding cornerbacks should hold their own against the 49ers wide receivers, but I’m not sure the Jets have any good answers for George Kittle. I expect the 49ers to exploit this mismatch. Give me the over on George Kittle and 43.5 receiving yards.
