The Buffalo Bills are urged to sign surprising returning NFL free agent wide receiver, Corey Davis this offseason. According to a report, the Bills may look into signing one of the most inconsistent wideouts in this year’s free-agency class. Davis never got to live up to his name after catching 207 passes for 2,851 yards and 11 touchdowns in four years with the Tennessee Titans. However, a source believes he could have another shot in the league after reinstating himself.
His best season came in 2020 when he could catch 65 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns. This stat line got him to sign a lucrative deal with the New York Jets in 2021. However, injuries have been preventing him from consistently impacting the team. He’ll likely never get back to prime form but rumors are still floating that he could sign with a club.
Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine identifies Bills as a reasonable spot for him to be a functional receiver again. Davis still has production in him that can potentially be a vertical threat as the No. 3 receiver. The Bills are another team that needs a pass-catcher after losing Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs this offseason. However, the team was able to draft Keon Coleman as well as sign Mack Hollins and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
None of the receivers are what everyone was expecting the Bills to add to their receiving corps. They were able to get Chase Claypool too who’s turning heads at practice. Davis has the chance to do the same if the Bills give him that opportunity. It’s a matter of time before what route the Bills will take to establish some reliable weapons for quarterback Josh Allen.

Other Potential Destinations
Kansas City Chiefs
It’s hard to imagine to see a receiver coming back in the mix to be the same. However, the Chiefs are still in dire need of a pass-catcher despite signing back Mecole Hardman to the roster. Rashee Rice is going to miss playing time and the receiver group doesn’t sound promising with Marquise Brown leading it. Davis could work his way back to the group as a leader even though it may take some time.
However, it’s a low-cost effective that gives Patrick Mahomes another weapon to work with incoming wideout Xavier Worthy. He could be an excellent mentor for him and help the lackluster production of the receiving corps from Kadarius Toney and Justin Watson. The Chiefs can’t get any worse if they make this signing happen. Claypool is making plays with the Bills after having unproductive seasons with the Bears so Davis has the chance to do the same.
Baltimore Ravens
One conversation that no one talks about is how the Ravens are still potentially lacking at the wideout position. They may have lost Odell Beckham Jr. but they could replace him with another veteran. Zay Flowers is going to need more help collecting some balls to help move this offense. Rashod Bateman may be coming back but he had one of the worst seasons last year.
Davis isn’t a reasonable top target but he has some potential to offer a team that needs an effective pass-catcher.
Carolina Panthers
A big, physical receiver is probably the last piece to help bolster the Carolina Panthers offense. They need someone who’s going to go out there to break tackles in critical moments. The second-year quarterback has plenty of new weapons but they need a physical hitter on the opposite end of Diontae Johnson. It seems odd to need a heavy-set receiver but this may be what it takes to get this team back in playoff contention.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have one of the worst receiving groups with new head coach Jim Harbaugh. The addition of DJ Chark isn’t going to help someone like incoming receiver Ladd McConkey. However, they may have Quentin Johnson and Josh Palmer but no one to help develop the young talent. Davis isn’t good like Keenan Allen or Mike Williams but he’ll be the type of weapon to be ready for any rep.
