It was a brutal Week 10 for the New York Jets.
Visiting the Arizona Cardinals (6-4), the Jets (3-7) saw their season likely come to a figurative end after losing 31-6.
As the score indicates, it was not a close affair. Likely because of that, wide receiver Garrett Wilson did not mince words after the final whistle.
“The energy’s not there because we’re playing like trash,” Wilson said. “That’s how I see it.”
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had similar, yet toned down, feelings.
“A lot of different emotions,” Rodgers said after the loss. “We didn’t come out with great energy on either side of the ball. Offensively, you’re not going to beat anybody scoring six points.”
The potential reason for the two different tones can probably boil down to production.
Rodgers was once again poor in Arizona. New York’s quarterback only had 151 yards passing and fumbled away the ball once.
Wilson only had 41 yards but caught five passes on six targets. Meanwhile, back to Rodgers, he targeted Davante Adams 13 times and his friend only caught six balls for 31 yards.
That’s not to say Wilson is taking any shots on his teammates, but you can’t blame him much for the Jets’ struggles. Therefore, he’s feeling confident enough to be candid.
