The Kansas City Chiefs or Baltimore Ravens may sign returning free agent Pro Bowler, Jarvis Landry before the upcoming regular season. According to a report, Landry is still looking for a new deal but he hasn’t been able to find a new home even after attempting to return for a workout with the New York Jets. The former Saints wide receiver hasn’t been able to play in the league since 2022, but he’s still chasing one more opportunity before he eventually retires. However, the veteran hasn’t been able to remain healthy since he only made nine appearances in New Orleans.
The Jets made the move to sign two other receivers over Landry to add to what they already have in Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams. This should be an indicator that the Jets isn’t signing Landry but his options are running slim for a new opportunity. Landry will likely fight for a roster if he signs with a team being that he hasn’t been able to stay consistent. However, the receiver is trying to get back to his prime days when he was one of the more reliable slot wideouts early in his career.
The Chiefs are still looking for a reliable receiver to help accommodate Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown. Rashee Rice might not start week one so this leaves Kadarius Toney with big shoes to fill who already hasn’t been able to show much promise in his game. No one should expect Landry to land a big deal but he would be a cost-effective receiver that could help Toney in the slot. However, the Ravens need one more wideout to help receivers Nelson Agholor and Rashod Bateman continue bolstering firepower for Lamar Jackson.
Here are some other potential destinations for Jarvis Landry.

Other Potential Trade Fits
New Orleans Saints
The Saints are in cap hell but they might have no choice but to bring back Landry for another opportunity. It’s their last resort if they won’t bring back a more expensive option like Hunter Renfrow or Michael Thomas. Derek Carr is on the hot seat and doesn’t have many advantages to make any change to this offense so his job looks to be in jeopardy. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed aren’t giving him the firepower he’s looking for so bringing back in Landry wouldn’t be a terrible idea.
No one knows what A.T. Perry would be able to do as a slot receiver so it’s easier to have Landry come in as veteran insurance. It’s the perfect scenario considering Carr would be getting additional help to prove that he could still be a top-10 quarterback in the league again.
Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert probably has one of the worst core groups of receivers walking into this upcoming year, Quentin Johnston and Josh Palmer being the replacements for Williams and Keenan Allen don’t look like the answer on paper. However, Ladd McConkey shows long-term relief for Herbert if both of his starting receivers are unreliable. It’s McConkey’s first year so he may need more additional help in the slot other than a DJ Chark.
Chark hasn’t been doing any special but one can only see what he can do under the old-school Jim Harbaugh offense. However, Landry is a veteran so he has more experience to lead this team to a legit chance to the first round of the playoffs.
Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young has a nice supporting cast with Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen as his main two slot receivers. However, Xavier Legette is walking into a new scenery so he may not be ready come week one to adjust to a new offense. This means they could bring in veteran Landry to assist as a mentor to help Legette get up to speed. It would give Landry one more run in the playoffs since the Panthers are looking like the Lions in terms of offensive firepower.
