Between 2016 and 2021, Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams formed one of the best passing combinations of the past decade while with the Green Bay Packers.
Rodgers is currently in New York and Adams in Las Vegas, but the four-time MVP is hoping to recruit his former All-Pro receiver.
Appearing on the Up & Adams Show this week, Adams said that he’s been talking with Rodgers and shooting the breeze. But Adams also made it clear that it’s not going to be easy for Rodgers to recruit him.
He declared that he is a Las Vegas Raider and Rodgers is well-aware of that.
“He’s in the ear,” Adams said. “But it’s not as easy. Obviously, we can get together and talk about the old times and the potential of doing this and that. But like I said, I’m a Raider and he knows that.”
In eight seasons with the Packers, Adams had 872 receptions for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns. He made five Pro Bowls and was a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection who led the league in touchdowns and yards per game in 2020.
Even after Adams was traded to the Raiders and Rodgers was traded to the Jets, the two have remained good friends, going to the Kentucky Derby together and continuing to give each other kudos on social media.
Adams would certainly be a massive upgrade for the Jets at wide receiver and Rodgers would be a better quarterback than the ones he’s expected to play with this season (if healthy). A reunion would make some sense.
Will the two ever reunite and play together again?
