We’re only two days away from the 2024 NFL Draft, which means that it’s time for the final predictions. The New York Jets have seven selections this year, including #10 overall selection. They also have a 3rd round pick, two picks in the 4th round, two picks in the 6th and one in the 7th.
TE Brock Bowers from Georgia is the current mock draft selection at #10 overall by the New York Post, FOX Sports, NFL.com and ESPN. CBS Sports have the Jets trading down to #14 and still selecting Bowers. Bowers is also the current Jets draft odds favorite at +145. Caesars Sportsbook Promo Code can be used to get up to $1,000 in bonus bets on NFL Draft and other sporting events. Bowers would definitely add another dimension to the Gang Green’s passing attack that already features WR Garrett Wilson and free agent WR Mike Williams. Bowers caught 175 passes for 2,538 yards, 26 TDs in three seasons at Georgia. He’s an elite prospect, who’s projected as a first year starter in the NFL
NBC Sports has the Jets select OT Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State. He certainly fills the need, as the Jets pass protection has been absolutely horrendous the last few years. Fuaga has 2nd highest odds (+800) to get selected by the Jets in the first round.
OT Troy Fautanu from Washington is another highly ranked offensive tackle. He also has experience at guard and might be a logical selection, considering that the Jets’ offensive line is one or two injuries away from another total disaster.
The Sporting News predicts that the Jets draft another offensive tackle, Olu Fashanu from Penn State. Fashanu has the prototypical size for an NFL left tackle. He’s 6’6″, 312 lbs with a huge upside.
As for the third round selection, the Sporting News has the Jets pick CB Max Melton from Rudgers, who would fit in the slot to compliment Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed. The New York Post has the Gang Green select WR Malachi Corley from Western Kentucky. Corley scored 11 touchdowns in each of his last two NCAA seasons. He caught 101 passes for 1,295 yards and averaged almost 13 yards per catch as a sophomore in 2022.
With the last pick of the Draft, the New York Post has the Jets select LB Darius Muasau from UCLA. The projected Mr. Irrelevant had 75 tackles (43 solo) and 4.0 sacks in his senior season.
The 2024 NFL Draft will be held April 25-27 in Detroit, MI. The first round will start at 8PM ET on Thursday. Each team gets 10 minutes to make their first round selection.
