As April draws near, the football world remains patient. By the end of the month, over 250 young men will have their dreams of becoming an NFL Draft pick achieved. Among those teams is the New York Jets, who will be selecting seventh overall this year. After a busy offseason, the team is expected to pick for offense in Aaron Glenn’s first draft as head coach. Recently, Penn State tight end Tyler Warren has become a popular name in rumors. However, a new candidate has emerged from the University of Missouri. Earning All-SEC honors this season, could this offensive tackle hear his name called? Let us find out more about potential Jets draft pick Armand Membou.
The Jets’ haul from Matt Miller’s 7-round mock draft:
7. Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
42. Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State
73. Jaylen Reed, S, Penn State
110. Gunnar Helm, TE, Texas

Has This All-SEC Prospect Left a Strong Impression on the Jets?
As the NFL Offseason waits for Green Bay, teams have been active throughout the offseasons. Contenders like the Los Angeles Rams and Washington Commanders have taken the time to improve to keep pace with the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles. Others, like the Tennessee Titans, have been determining the best course of action with the first-round draft pick. By selecting first overall, many are wondering if Tennessee will use their pick to select a franchise quarterback in Cam Ward or opt for defense with defensive end Abdul Carter. In ESPN analyst Matt Miller’s latest mock draft, he had the Titans selecting Ward first overall. Within his 257 pick mock draft, Miller wanted to improve the Jets offense, but not in the way most initially thought.
ESPN Mock Draft projects Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou to the Jets
Miller has New York drafting Armand Membou. Membou, who stands 6’4″ and weighs 332 lbs, was a three-year starter at right tackle for the Missouri Tigers. Membou has played in 35 games over his three-year career, with 30 total starts at right tackle. After earning All-SEC honors last season, Membou has been a fast rising name after his strong offseason. At the NFL Combine, Membou dazzled, running a sub-five-second 40-yard time. (4.91 seconds) Due to his size and starting experience, Membou is a fun addition to the Jets. With New York in need of a new starting right tackle, Membou could thrive starting next to guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.

Armand Membou fits well into the Jets’ long-term vision. Coming from the Detroit Lions, Aaron Glenn has seen how investing in the offensive line early pays off. At only 21 years old, Armand Membou is still years from his prime. Fitting Membou with this experienced Jets offensive line would be ideal for Armand. Additionally, selecting Armand Membou would be a big relief for Jets general manager Darren Mougey. With the addition of Armand Membou, the Jets could have their bookend tackles for the next decade.
Offensive Tackle would be set for years between Armand Membou and Olu Fashanu
In 2024, New York invested in their offensive line as well. After trading back with the Minnesota Vikings, the Jets selected Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu. The All-Big 10 left tackle left a strong impression after replacing Tyron Smith as the blindside tackle. It led to a noticeable improvement in the pass protection overall. With Morgan Moses now in Washington, the Jets have a hole at right tackle.
By selecting Armand Membou, the Jets can have a 21-year-old prospect who has played the position his whole college career. With comparisons to Jaguars offensive tackle Anton Harrison and Titans offensive tackle JC Lantham, Armand Membou projects to be a day one starter if drafted. With a strong interior offensive line with the trio of guards John Simpson and Alijah Vera-Tucker, as well as center Joe Tippmann, the Jets offensive line will have a strong foundation.
I’m on the 8th tape for #Missouri RT Armand Membou and I can count the number of pressures allowed on one hand (zero sacks). Love this dude.
Looks like a 1st round player. Explosive + controlled in pass pro. Finisher in the run game. Still just 20 years old. pic.twitter.com/HorFXIQSEn

Also, I’m sure their new starting quarterback, Justin Fields, would appreciate it. Due to Fields’ athleticism and pocket awareness, investing in the offensive line would be a wise decision for New York. With Fields preference for rolling out and play action, an athletic guard like Armand Membou would be a valuable tool on the right side of the line. Furthermore, with an emphasis placed on the run game this year, Membou has also been a productive run blocker. Between AVT and Membou’s run blocking abilities, running back Breece Hall would have his best running lanes yet in his young career.
Only the Jets know who they will pick later this month. While we can all make assumptions, the best we can do is wait. However, if either option includes either Tyler Warren or Armand Membou, fans will be eager to see them on the field this fall.
