Gang Green fans hoping for Woody Johnson to name Mike Vrabel as their next head coach got a bit of good news today from Connor Hughes of SNY. According to Hughes, multiple sources within the league believe that Mike Vrabel is the Jets preferred candidate.
In Vrabel, New York would of course be going with another defensive-minded head coach but unlike year’s past, would give them an experienced leader with a respectable record.
Owner of a career win-loss record of 54-45, Vrabel is the type of figure who the Jets could use to change the culture in the building a 1 Jets Drive.
A key question in adding Vrabel or any other defensive coach is who will his offensive coordinator be? The Jets are expected to add a quarterback at some point in the upcoming draft and will also have Jordan Travis in the building as he enters year number two.
If and when a young quarterback has some issues to work through, who’s going to be the guy to get him through any rough patches?
