The final injury report of Patriots week is out:
This is an encouraging update for the Jets, although Mosley not practicing all week (albeit that they only did a walkthrough each day anyway, so the practice designations are strictly speaking an estimate) might mean he doesn’t play. With him being so important to the defensive communication, perhaps the Jets will dress him anyway, if healthy enough, even if he does not start. However, it seems likely they will exercise caution.
The secondary looks to be fully intact, although of course Carter started the last game and didn’t make it to the end so we’ll see how he goes.
New England’s injury report also makes for interesting reading. We already knew Bentley was headed to injured reserve and Ximines isn’t a major loss on defense but they will also be without their starters at left tackle and left guard.
The good news for New England is that Sow had already missed the past two games and Lowe (who took over as starter after Chuks Okorafor had a rough opener) isn’t very good, so his replacement (probably third round rookie Caedan Wallace) is unlikely to be much of a downgrade.
Andrews would be a huge loss because he played every snap last year, so it seems inevitable he will play along with Onwenu. Nick Leverett is their backup center. Wise and Peppers being out would also hurt New England’s depth from an experience perspective but again it seems likely both will play.
