Jeff Ulbrich is out of the running to be the full-time head coach of the New York Jets… because he went and got himself a new job.
The Atlanta Falcons announced that Ulbrich has accepted an offer to become their new defensive coordinator. That was the position Ulbrich worked in New York prior to also picking up interim head coach duties:

Ulbrich, 47, guided the Jets to a 3-9 record after the team fired Robert Saleh as head coach after a 2-3 start in October.
Ulbrich had interviewed for the full-time position in New York, but it never seemed likely that he would earn the job considering his record.
Ulbrich landing in Atlanta is not the biggest of surprises as well. Ulbrich and Falcons head coach Raheem Morris previously worked together in Atalanta from 2015 to 2020.
The Falcons defense allowed 24.9 points per game and 345.2 yards per outing, finishing 23rd in the NFL in both categories in 2024.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates on the team’s head coach search.
