Media (and fans) were on hand for the Jets’ training camp practice today which took the form of a simulated game without officals (although they had originally planned to have officials). Here’s what went down according to those on hand:
- Sauce Gardner did not play after missing practice yesterday for personal reasons and Deuce Carter also didn’t play after hurting his ankle a few days ago;
- Tyron Smith did not practice as he took a veteran rest day and Morgan Moses was also out;
- Malik Taylor also did not practice;
- Max Mitchell started at right tackle with Olu Fashanu at left tackle;
- Javon Kinlaw, Jarrick Bernard-Converse and Micheal Clemons started on defense as the Jets opened in a three-safety set; and
- The second team offensive line comprised Wes Schweitzer, Chris Glaser, Carter Warren, Austin Deculus and Xavier Newman.

Allen opened with a solid seven yard run
Two Tyrod Taylor incompletions led to a three and out

Rodgers dumps underneath to Hall
Deep back shoulder throw from Rodgers caught by Wilson for 22 over Bernard-Converse
Two completions to Allen Lazard including a first down conversion on the outside on 2nd down
Isaiah Davis ran the wrong route and then lost a fumble on the next play, forced by Mosley as Tanzel Smart wrapped him up
Fourth Drive – 2nd team offense vs 2nd team defense
Taylor pass to Jason Brownlee downfield broken up by Qwan’tez Stiggers
Braiden McGregor and Eric Watts combined for a coverage sack on third down
Two minute drill – 2nd team offense vs 2nd team defense
Tre Swilling was pulled after punching Irv Charles at the end of a play
Taylor completed a nice downfield throw to Kenny Yeboah, then hit Brownlee twice including one downfield for a 23-yard touchdown as he made a leaping catch near the pylon to end the “first half”
Second Half:
First Drive – 1st team offense vs 1st team defense
Davis had a good return on the kickoff
Johnson and Clemons stuffed a Hall run
Rodgers to Lazard over the middle for a first down
Vera-Tucker false started and was subbed out
Incompletion to Corley on a miscommunication
Nice gainer on a checkdown to Allen
Sherwood blew up a play-action rollout
Johnson stuffed a run and then had good pressure as he beat Fashanu but Rodgers found Wilson in zone coverage
Sherwood broke up a downfield pass intended for Conklin
Hamze El-Zayat caught a short pass from Rodgers
Holmes also beat Fashanu as Sherwood broke up a third down pass intended for Lazard
Zuerlein nailed a short field goal

Zaire Barnes blew up a run with a big hit on Izzy Abanikanda
