Based on reports across the league, a Davante Adams trade is becoming more and more likely by the second. Once in the discussion for the best wide receiver in football, the three-time All-Pro isn’t quite the same player he was in 2020 but remains one of the game’s better set of hands. Unfortunately, the Las Vegas Raiders aren’t getting the most out of the three-time First-Team All-Pro. Playing in three games, Adams recorded 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown in the young season.
Davante Adams originally arrived in Vegas via trade because he wanted to play with Derek Carr. However, then-head coach Josh McDaniels cut the quarterback after one season, forcing Adams to waste his later years on a rebuilding roster. The former second-round pick understandably wants to play for a contender in the waning years of his career, and who can blame him? While any team could make a play for his services, the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints make the most sense.
Sources: Teams have called the #Raiders today, and Las Vegas has also made calls regarding a potential Davante Adams trade.
I’m told these were considered “routine check-ins” on a developing situation. But this is usually how it all starts… https://t.co/gzftQ0EWeG

4 Teams Emerge In Davante Adams Trade Rumors
When the New York Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers in 2023, they indirectly traded for a series of former Packers. Aaron Rodgers likes playing with familiar faces, and the 40-year-old quarterback doesn’t want to waste his time developing trust with unproven rookies. Davante Adams is perhaps the most proven receiver on the trade market, and he obviously has a rapport with Rodgers based on their time together in Green Bay. With Garrett Wilson failing to meet expectations, the Jets have every reason to go out and get Adams. New York has the pieces to compete for a Super Bowl title, and Adams could be the spark this offense needs to reach its ceiling.
The Kansas City Chiefs, meanwhile, are battling several key injuries at the receiver position. Second-round pick Rashee Rice may have dodged a bullet with his knee injury, but the wide receiver will still miss several weeks before returning to full strength. With Marquise Brown also down for the count, Patrick Mahomes must make do with an explosive yet inconsistent Xavier Worthy and an aging Travis Kelce. A Davante Adams trade would be exactly what this offense needs, but would the Raiders ever send him to their most hated division rival? Maybe they’d consider it if the Chiefs make the highest offer, but Kansas City would need to dramatically overpay.
Old Friends
Davante Adams originally left Green Bay because he wanted to play with Derek Carr, so perhaps history could repeat itself. Now leading the New Orleans Saints, Carr is playing like one of the best quarterbacks in football. While the team currently sits at 2-2, they could just as easily be 4-0 if it weren’t for some unlucky bounces. This team has the talent to compete, and a Davante Adams trade should push New Orleans toward their first playoff appearance of the post-Drew Brees Era. Dennis Allen wants playmakers, and few are better than Adams.
Last but certainly not least is the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore is winning games thanks to their ferocious downhill running attack, but they could use better weapons in the passing game. Zay Flowers is playing up to his draft capital, but Rashod Bateman continues to disappoint while tight end Mark Andrews can’t seem to establish himself in the offense. Davante Adams might be older than Andrews, but the trade candidate still has plenty in his tank. Pairing him with Flowers, two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, and superstar Derrick Henry could give Baltimore the most versatile offense in football.
