The New York Jets have another kicker in town (again).
In a season that has seen plenty of woes, the placekicking position continues to pop up among the problems in New York. It has once again, even with only two games remaining.
Ahead of facing the Buffalo Bills (12-3) in Week 17, the Jets (4-11) have signed kicker Greg Joseph to the team’s practice squad.
Joseph is the fourth kicker the team has added this year since Greg Zuerlein was placed on injured reserve (knee). Zuerlein himself was struggling before then.
Most recent Jets kicker, Anders Carlson, struggled in New York’s 19-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He missed a field goal and extra point.
Joseph suited up for the New York Giants and Washington Commanders this season. He has gone 15-of-19 on his attempts this year and made all eight of his extra points. Over 74 career games, Joseph has connected on 82.1 percent of his attempts.
Pending a mid-week competition between Joseph and Carlson, the Jets will eventually named a kicker for their game in Buffalo.
Jets Wire will provide updates as information is made available.
