New York Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said that running back Breece Hall’s status for the team’s week 15 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars “looks good” and is “promising,” according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini. Hall was forced to miss his first game of the season last week while dealing with a knee injury.
Jets Expect Stud Running Back To Return To Lineup In Week 15
The former Iowa State Cyclone is averaging 91.1 yards per game on the ground and through the air. In 12 games this season, Breece Hall has recorded 1,093 yards from scrimmage for six total touchdowns. Coming into week 15, he is the Jets’ leading rusher in terms of touchdowns, yards, and carries.
What does Breece Hall’s return mean?
Unfortunately, the New York Jets were eliminated from playoff contention after they were defeated in week 14 by the Miami Dolphins 32-26. As a result, Breece Hall’s availability for the week 15 game will be inconsequential. It’s not like Hall’s presence will put the Jets back into playoff contention.
With that being said, the Jets might still be fighting for a playoff spot if Hall had been available last week. After all, the Jets lost in overtime, so a premium running back like Hall could’ve been a huge difference-maker for Gang Green. It also doesn’t help that Miami held the Jets to just 88 yards on the ground. Either way, the Jets lost the game without Hall and were eliminated from the playoffs for the 14th consecutive year.
Hall’s availability will be a determining factor in thousands of fantasy football playoff matchups. Hall enters the Jaguars game as ESPN’s 15th-ranked running back in terms of fantasy football production. If he’s good to go on Sunday, then he could gift a lot of fantasy footballers playoff wins. Even if he is on a snap limit, Hall is going up against the NFL’s 24th-ranked rushing defense (132.6 yards allowed per game), so he should be able to have an impact in fantasy football lineups.
