Garrett Wilson amazed his team and the greater football world against the Houston Texans.
The New York Jets (3-6) beat the Texans (6-3), 21-13. Wilson played a huge role.
Wilson had two touchdown catches and both were of the one-handed variety. The second was even more impressive and is in the discussion for the “Catch of the Year” for the NFL’s 2024 season.
Wilson was modest about the second-half snag, saying he was just “happy to make a play for his teammates.”
He had fun with it a bit, too.
“Yeah, [that catch] is up there,” Wilson told reporters. “When I was in little league, I used to have some catches now. For real. It felt like I was going back to those days a little bit.”
Wilson was certainly not alone in enjoying his catch. His teammates and coaches did as well, even comparing it to a past grab by New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. which occured in that same end zone at MetLife Stadium.
A roundup of Jets locker room reaction to Wilson’s touchdown can be found in the clip below:
“It would rival the Odell catch, it was amazing.”
