The new uniforms are an expansion on the Legacy jerseys the team wore during games against the Buffalo Bills (Week 1) and Kansas City Chiefs (Week 4) last season. Immediately after the Super Bowl, the Jets announced new uniforms were coming that would include green and black versions of the Legacy jerseys.
The helmet is also a throwback to the old logos from the days of the New York Sack Exchange and the wordmark the team used from 1978-1997.
The old “Gotham green and” and “spotlight white” jerseys were unveiled for the 2019 season and ultimately used for four seasons. It’s back the old school for the Jets and by many accounts, that’s a good thing. It’s a new era for Jets football, at least with how they will look on Sundays.
